# Hyperliquid on Supersmooth (onchain perps and spot orderbooks)

> Hyperliquid is the dominant onchain perpetual futures exchange with fully onchain orderbooks. Supersmooth routes perps and spot trades through Hyperliquid with native TP/SL support.

Hyperliquid is the dominant onchain perpetual futures exchange. Hyperliquid is a purpose-built layer-1 blockchain running fully onchain perpetual and spot orderbooks, called HyperCore, alongside a general-purpose EVM, called HyperEVM. Every order, cancel, trade, and liquidation happens onchain with one-block finality under the custom HyperBFT consensus. On Supersmooth, Hyperliquid powers perpetual futures and spot trading with native Take Profit and Stop Loss order types at the exchange layer.

## Overview

HyperCore currently supports around 200,000 orders per second. Supersmooth routes perpetual futures and spot trades through Hyperliquid, with position management pages that expose native exchange-layer order types. Because Hyperliquid runs its own layer 1, assets bridge into Hyperliquid rather than living on Ethereum directly. Supersmooth provides an in-app bridge flow so users can fund their Hyperliquid account from the same wallet used for lending positions.

| Attribute | Value |
| - | - |
| Networks | Hyperliquid L1 |
| Supersmooth products | Perpetual futures, HyperCore spot trading |
| Order types | Real limit orders, native Take Profit and Stop Loss |
| Consensus | HyperBFT (custom) |
| Throughput | \~200,000 orders per second |

## Origin and timeline

Hyperliquid launched in 2023, built by a team that famously took no venture funding. The November 2024 HYPE genesis distribution to users was among the largest community airdrops ever. The Hyperliquid builder-code system lets interfaces route orders and earn fees at the settlement layer, which is the mechanism Supersmooth uses.

## Design tradeoffs

* **Orderbook rather than automated market maker:** Hyperliquid provides real limit orders, real depth, and native Take Profit and Stop Loss order types. This is why Supersmooth perpetual futures automations use the exchange layer rather than keepers.
* **Its own layer 1:** Hyperliquid delivers centralized-exchange-grade performance and composability within the Hyperliquid ecosystem, where HyperCore primitives are accessible to HyperEVM contracts. Assets bridge into Hyperliquid rather than living on Ethereum.
* **Funding-rate pricing:** perpetual futures price amplified exposure through funding, which is sometimes cheaper than borrow rates and sometimes far more expensive. Supersmooth puts both in one interface so the comparison can actually be made.

## Hyperliquid on Supersmooth

<Warning>
  Supersmooth perpetual futures are not available to US persons. See the Supersmooth Terms of Service.
</Warning>

Supersmooth offers Hyperliquid perpetual futures with native Take Profit and Stop Loss at a 5 bps builder fee, and HyperCore spot at an 85 bps builder fee. Venue mechanics, meaning margin, funding, and liquidations, are documented in the [Hyperliquid docs](https://hyperliquid.gitbook.io/hyperliquid-docs).
